According to the Calgary Herald, Palin told her audience that, “My first five years of life we spent in Skagway, Alaska, right there by Whitehorse. Believe it or not – this was in the ‘60s – we used to hustle on over the border for health care that we would receive in Whitehorse. I remember my brother, he burned his ankle in some little kid accident thing and my parents had to put him on a train and rush him over to Whitehorse and I think, isn’t that kind of ironic now. Zooming over the border, getting health care from Canada.”
Okay, Ms. Palin, I know you think that's kind of a cute little story, but here's the thing:
Your family lived in Alaska. Alaska is part of the US, not Canada.
Therefore, your family paid taxes to the US governmnet, not to the Canadian government.
Which means that when you were "Zooming over the border, getting health care from Canada,” you were getting care that was paid for by the citizens of Canada. Which makes you a cheat and a thief. Well, not you so much as your parents, because you were 5 years old, but you were the beneficiary of this theft. I guess socialized healthcare is Ok as long as it's someone else's tax dollars funding it?
P.S. How did anyone from this family make it through the death panel?
Palin should have stayed in Canada - so that the rest of us can stay safely in America:
