I'm Not Easily Horrified, But. . .

AAAAGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!

I took this photo at an otherwise really cool food shop/restaurant called Aunt B's on Dauphin Island, Alabama.

Apparently, this is really a thing that people really do eat.

  1. Well, I do recall my grand daddy eating pickled pigs feet, and he was from Mobile...but this is a new one.

  2. Oh sure, pigs FEET! That's not all that weird. My dad used to eat them and he's from San Jose, CA. Of course, that was when San Jose was all farming.

  3. Could those actually be pig snouts in those jars? I've been to pig roasts where the snout got cooked, too. The snout actually tasted okay, but it's certainly not my favorite part of the pig.

I've also seen pickled snouts at high-end Mexican groceries in Chicago and Houston. Clearly, there's a market for them! :-)

  4. Ew, that is disgusting. Pickled anything could make me vomit.
