Booing a man who is risking life and limb in some godforsaken desert in service of his country? You stay classy, Republicans.
Also, santorum's answer makes no sense. He seems to think that all the troops should be celibate an that the repeal of DADT gives gay soldiers special permission to boink.
Also, it's really strange to see the righties bemoaning the loss of DADT when just a few years ago, they were screaming about this policy destroying the military. Now the military can't survive without it?
Neither Santorum nor the other debaters had the basic decency to thank the soldier for his service. It seems that modern Republicans have now redefined the term "gutless cowards."
ReplyDeleteDo you think they only go back through their notes to the past week and say, 'nope, haven't banged on about how bad DADT is, better get onto that,' rather than going back much futher and realise they're just a bunch of hypocrites? Who might still get elected to the White House.
ReplyDeleteThe GOP candidates have sold their souls by pandering to these uber conservation tea party people. (Except for Perry, Santorum, and Bachmann, they actually are one of them).
ReplyDeleteNot even you are going to stick up for the soldier, Ron Paul?
Santorum's answer is thinly veiled attempt at trying to cover up homophobia as his reason to appeal DADT.
Erm, I mean reinstate DADT*.
