Oh, Good Point, Senator!

Senator John Mccain went on one of the Sunday Morning talking-point recitals (Face the Press?) and was asked about the teabagger debate audience booing an active-duty soldier.

"Do you think that the Republican candidate[s] should have spoken up at that debate about that?" Schieffer asked.
"Yeah, I do," McCain replied. "But a lot of times when you are in a debate, you're thinking about what you're going to say and what the question is going to be. It's hard to react sometimes, but I'm sure that -- I would bet that every Republican on that stage did not agree with that kind of behavior."

Oh, good point, Senator!  It really is a bit much to ask a potential commander - in - chief to be able to react quickly when placed on the spot.

  1. I think he misspoke there: they try to put the question they've been asked OUT of their mind, and focus on the question they want to answer. Dubya was truly a master of that skill.
