The radio was central to how I learned of and heard new music in my youth! And I spent a lot of time taping songs off the radio on my little cassette recorder because I didn't have a lot of money to buy 45s.
Roadrunner by Jonathan Richman? I'm guessing you read Sarah Vowell's collection of essays Radio On, in which this song plays a big part. Worth reading if you haven't, especially at this time in this world.
Oh my GOD! Roadrunner was one of the first ones I though t of and by the time I got around to doing it I totally forgot it! What a drag it is getting old.
howsabout "on the radio" by donna summer? or "you turn me on, I'm a radio" by joni mitchell or "life is a rock but the radio rolled me"?
ReplyDeleteWell, "on the radio" isnt about listening to music so it didn't fit the criteria. I am not familiar with the other two.
