Shows New Yorkers NOT constantly mugging and raping each other. Clearly designed to influence real Americans into believing that New York is some sort of decent place to live.

Portrayed two southern "good ol' boys" who were NOT members of the Klan and neither of whom ever had relations with their super-hot cousin. Show seems to be designed to manipulate people into forgetting that the KKK is a real thing that all southerners participate in. And so is cousin-fucking.

The Cosby Show

Shows black people NOT selling or using crack. Male characters were neither crips nor bloods. Obviously trying to fool white people into not being scared of every black person, when clearly black people are super-scary.

 

Will & Grace

Showed two gay men who never once recruited a young man into their lifestyle nor ever molested any children. An obvious attempt to manipulate decent people into thinking that they can live in the same neighborhood as a gay man without being constantly butt-raped and/or turned gay.

 

Broadway Danny Rose

This movie portrays several Jewish people NOT controlling the world's banks or discussing the Protocols of the Elders of Zion. Most of the Jewish characters are involved in show business but do NOT control the entire industry. Obvious attempt to foll Gentiles into forgetting that Jews control the media and everything else in the world.

Florida Senate approves business tax cut that shrinks unemployment benefits


The Florida Senate approved a tax cut for businesses that will shrink unemployment benefits for those out of work.

Sen. Nancy Detert, R-Venice, suggested her bill was a take-it-or-leave-it offer


“Pigs get fed, hogs get slaughtered,” Detert said. “Learn to like it or get nothing.”

Oh, right on, Ms Detert! People who would like to not be destitute after losing their jobs are such swine!

Although, one would think that Ms. Detert might not be the kind of lady who would want to throw out pig comparisons willy-nilly.

The bill cuts by 10 percent the tax rate that businesses pay to cover the costs of unemployment benefits and makes it easier for companies to keep former workers from collecting benefits.

This in a state whose governor has turned down $2.4 billion in stimulus money to build high-speed rail. The sort of building project that would create a whole bunch of, um, jobs.

The Obama administration on Monday announced the reallocation of $2 billion in its signature transportation program to create a national high-speed rail network, including $795 million for upgrades that would permit speeds of 160 mph in parts of the Northeast Corridor.

U.S. Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood made the money available to other states this year when Florida Gov. Rick Scott (R) opted not to accept funds that had been allocated to build high-speed rail between Tampa and Orlando. (Washington Post)

Of course, insane governor Rick Scott wanted to cut corporate taxes even further:

On Tuesday, Florida's lawmakers blocked Gov. Rick Scott's aggressive plan to cut corporate income taxes by $459 million in fiscal 2012. The legislators, who are Republicans as well, said the state could not handle slashing spending deeply enough to make up for the lost tax revenue. (CNN.Com)

So how insane do you have to be to have Florida Republicans tell you to dial down the irresponsible tax slashing? Florida Republicans! Even Florida Republicans are telling Rick Scott that his tax cutting is going too far. So maybe I was wrong the other day. Maybe there is a worse governor than Rick Snyder.

I know, it shouldn't matter what he looks like, but come on! there's got to be some limit.

But anyway, Governor Rick Scott has introduced a plan to subject both welfare recipients and all state employees to mandatory drug testing because, you know,

FREEDOOOOOOOOM!!!!



So what would make this libertarian, small-government teabagger decide to drug test everyone? Hmm, I don't know. Unless it's because he owns a chain of clinics that do drug tests?

Gov. Rick Scott’s drug testing policy stirs suspicion

One of the more popular services at Solantic, the urgent care chain co-founded by Florida Gov. Rick Scott, is drug testing, according to Solantic CEO Karen Bowling.
Given Solantic’s role in that marketplace, critics are again asking whether Scott’s policy initiatives -- this time, requiring drug testing of state employees and welfare recipients -- are designed to benefit Scott’s bottom line.

Hmmm. . .  nothing suspicious there!

In his defense, Scott has divested himself of his Solantic holdings. He gave them to his wife. Seriously.

The Palm Beach Post reported in an exclusive story two weeks ago that while Scott divested his interest in Solantic in January, the controlling shares went to a trust in his wife’s name.

 

What? No Good?

And this isn't the first time Scott has proposed a Solantic-friendly state policy:

. . . This raised a groundswell of concern and questions about his health policy initiatives, especially his push to move Medicaid into private HMOs. Solantic does not take Medicaid but does business with private Medicaid HMOs.

It really shouldn't be surprising. When you elect someone to run the government whose core belief is that government is bad, it's not all that shocking that they would see no problem with using their position of power to swindle the government. After all, they've been very clear about their complete lack of respect for government, why would you not expect them to see a government position as a giant grifting opportunity?

So, good job, Florida teabaggers. You asked for it, now you got it. Enjoy.

No Matter How Crazy Your State Is. . .

. . .You will always have Florida to make you look sane by comparison.

TALLAHASSEE: Doctors and other medical providers would be barred from asking patients - or the parents of child patients - if they have guns in their home under a measure that promises a major showdown between powerful lobbying groups. . . Sponsored by Rep. Jason Brodeur, R-Sanford, the bill (HB 155) would make it a felony for a physician or staff member to ask patients or family members of patients if they own guns or store guns at home. If found guilty, the medical provider could be fined up to $5 million or face up to five years in jail.

A FELONY! A felony just to ask a simple, sensible question!  5 years in prison for daring to suggest that maybe you might want to keep toddlers from getting their little hands on lethal firearms.

Gun-rights groups say the measure was prompted by complaints from gun owners following an incident this summer in which an Ocala area physician told a couple to find a new pediatrician after they refused to answer questions about whether they had guns in their home and how they were stored.

REALLY? That's it? A doctor was rude to a couple of gun freaks and now some folks feel the need to make questions into felonies? I would think that if you didn't like your pediatrician asking about your guns, you would take your business elsewhere without having to be told to do so. But I guess that's just me. I guess that, not being a parent myself, I wouldn't understand. I just can't really empathize with the anger that a parent would feel when someone takes an interest in their child's well-being. I guess that if you've never had to be the one to stand up to this kind of tyranny, to look fascism in the eye and cry out, with tremulous voice, "If my kids want to shoot themselves or each other, it's none of your goddamm business!" then you just wouldn't really get how important this bill is.

Marion Hammer, executive director of United Sportsmen of Florida and a former national NRA president, said the gun rights groups have no opposition to a physician's office handing out brochures on gun safety, but the direct questioning on whether there are guns in the home of a patient and how they store them goes too far.

That is really just beyond the pale! Have these doctors no decency? Doctors might routinely ask about your sex life, or whether you're pooping regularly, or various questions about your lady cycle, but asking if you own a gun! What is this world coming to? Have they no shame?
