Quiet Jihad

Okay, Mr. Sign Man from yesterday, I promised I would research "Quiet Jihad" and I am true to my word.

And by "research" I mean "type the phrase into Google and see what comes up."

So I did, and what comes up is Pam Geller.

Pam Geller is the nut behind the blog "Atlas Shrugs," which tells you a little something about how Pammy sees herself. Um, Pammy, when Ayn Rand wrote Atlas Shrugged, the "Atlas" she was referring to were captains of industry, not sad little bloggers. Blogging is not really a good example of the kind of career in which the weight of the world rests upon your shoulders.

But anyway, if you're not familiar with Pam's particular brand of crackpottery, here are some examples of what you get when you type "Pam Geller" into the Google:

See, Pam's raison d'etre is her paranoid fear of Muslims. Not Muslim extremists, not Muslim terrorists, all Muslims. And like most paranoids, she's not just afraid that they might do something bad to her, she's sure that
they are already taking over! http://www.tradebit.com/usr/mp3-album/pub/9002/550/550605/55060573.jpg Dum Da Dummmmmm!!!!!!

So here's an example of what Pam calls "Quiet Jihad." If you are weak of heart, scroll down no further, for what you are about to read may be too terrifying, too frightening for you to handle!

Islamic Supremacist Alert: Muslims Sue Wal-Mart to Mosque the Workplace

In reading the NY Times propaganda piece, you have to go way deep into the article for the money line...... "All 10 complaints also stated that West African workers, who are Muslim, were refused short prayer breaks."

(note: I did not edit this. That is actually the first line of her article)
Mind you, it is not necessary for a Muslim to pray at a certain time.

Well, I don't know if that's true, and I'm guessing "Geller" isn't a Muslim name, so I checked it out. From what I understand, some Muslims believe that they must pray 5 times a day at specific times. Others are a bit more lax. Just like some Christians require confession and others don't, or some Jews keep all the strict kosher laws and others just avoid pork.

Can't Touch This!
Mind you, it is not necessary for a Muslim to pray at a certain time. These actions are merely devices in which to impose Islam on non-believers.

Oh. I see. Just like when I asked my boss for Superbowl Sunday off, I was forcing all my co-workers to be football fans. Sure, that makes sense. So, Muslims aren't really sincere about their religious beliefs, but they do want to force those beliefs on the rest of us? Is that it?

Muslims have pulled this act of war and the imposition of Islamic supremacism and sharia against Wal-mart before, and have won.

Really? Act of war? Filing a lawsuit to allow for prayer time is an act of war?
I'm not saying that what they're asking for is reasonable. Maybe it is, maybe not, I don't run a Wal-Mart, so I don't know. I would think having a bunch of employees leaving the sales floor at the same time would be pretty disruptive. I think people should pray to whomever they believe in on their own time, but that's just me. At any rate, I fail to see how this constitutes an act of war.

Hold on, now because this article is about to get a little incoherent.

Muslims have pulled this act of war and the imposition of Islamic supremacism and sharia against Wal-mart before, and have won.

The pathologically ill NY Times spin is pro-illegal, anti American, anti-business, blah blah blah. But the real story is hidden.

Immigrants Claim Wal-Mart Fired Them to Provide Jobs for Local Residents NY Times hat tip Kenny S

(again, I did not edit this.)

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. — A small group of West African [Muslim] men who came to the Rockies in search of economic opportunity are embroiled in a dispute with Wal-Mart, accusing it of a raft of discriminatory actions. Most say they were dismissed because supervisors wanted to give their jobs to local people in need of work. Skip to next paragraph Enlarge This Image Dana Romanoff for The New York Times

Wal-Mart, which has a history of discrimination and labor complaints but has increased efforts to promote diversity at its stores, denies the accusations.

Right there, anti-Walmart second paragraph.

Yes. Stating something about Wal-Mart which is true and then putting a positive pro-Wal-Mart spin on it is definitely anti-WalMart. Like saying that several Duke LaCrosse players were accused of rape, but later they were exonerated is rabidly anti-Duke-Lacrosse-Player.

The Times article states that Wal-Mart has had a history of complaints. Are you saying that's not true, or just that the reporter should have left out that fact? When covering a story that involves Wal-Mart and a claim of discrimination, one should never mention Wal-Mart and discrimination. Although I guess it's OK to mention that they have increased efforts to promote diversity, and that they deny the charges?

Well, I'm scared. It's possible, that if these men succeed, it may be really hard to get service at certain Wal-Marts in say, Dearborn, MI, at certain times of day. Brrrrrr!!!!!

Here's another scaaaaary story of Quiet Jihad.

Two versions of the same story with quite different details and manner of reporting. Either way, it’s just more of the same. Somali Muslims trying to enforce sharia law on non-Muslim students, and administrators kowtowing as usual, as are some media.

Oh, Shari law? No, definitely don't want that! Let's see how these nefarious Muslims are imposing their laws on non-Muslim students:

Principal Don Johnson said the problems began when two white students wrote papers in recent weeks that were “inflammatory and very disrespectful.” One student handed out copies of his paper to friends, while the other posted his on a class blog. Both were suspended from the school of 1,600 students — about 100 of whom are Somali.

Johnson said that before the second student returned to school Monday, the student sent text messages over the weekend to white and Somali students that were “unapologetic and in your face.” He then walked into a common area Monday where more than 20 Somali students were gathered and sat down. An altercation erupted that sent one of the white students to the hospital for observation.

So, some Somali students were insulted, then got into a fight with the students who insulted them? That's it? because, I think that's how most students would react to being insulted and taunted. Doesn't make it right, but it hardly seems like a big deal.

This is how it creeps folks. In big cities and small towns. You cannot say anything about Muslims – they are indeed privileged. If you do say something, be prepared to fight for your life and livelihood, possibly die, certainly have your life disrupted, end up in court, and be labeled things you likely are not.

So, if you take offense at something someone writes, and it escalates into a brawl amongst different groups of teenage boys, that makes you a "privileged" group. Because, sure, no other group will be likely to throw punches if they fell like you've insulted or disrespected them. Except Raider fans, of course. And Bikers. And people from Boston. And British soccer fans. And South Korean legislators. But that's it. Oh, and also, half the teenage boys on the planet. And some of the girls. So I guess those are all privileged groups.

Signs From a Parallel Universe

Since my internet has been acting up lately (hence the spotty posting) I only just found out now that there was a 9/12 teabagger rally. Which makes sense. I mean, I remember Glenn Beck talking about how he wanted people to remember how they felt on 9/12, which was, as I recall, frightened, angry and confused. And what better group to commemorate anger fear and confusion than the teabaggers.

Here are a few pictures of teabagger signs that I found here:

Eeeeeewwwww! Don't tell Christine O'Donnell!

See, in the parallel universe these people live in, there was zero national debt on January 2009. Every cent of debt owed by the US was incurred under the current administration.

In the parallel universe, no previous administration had ever collected taxes.

In the parallel universe, this is not considered child abuse.

In the parallel universe, mispronouncing an existing word counts as cleverly coining a new one.

Well that's great, but in our universe, He wasn't on the ballot.

Both have 18 letters? Well, that proves it!

Also, "Tea Party" "Ignorant" Both have 10 letters!
"Sarah Palin" "A Huge Fraud" Both have 10 letters!
"Tea Partier" "White Trash" Both have 10 Letters!

I stand ever at the ready to. . . zzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Oh, my God. Please, please, please, someone take this guy seriously. Chuck him into Boston Harbor or San Francisco Bay, or Lake Michigan, really any large body of water will do.

In the parallel universe, This guy's taxes went up. In our universe, they went down. His universe must really suck!

Oh, what subtle wit! What a clever fellow you must be. You may not be able to comfortably call the President a N---er, but you can gracefully, indirectly reference the "N-word" on your sign. Well done!

In the parallel universe, Barack Obama is the one who pushed through the Patriot Act, authorized warrantless wiretapping, and declared habeus corpus to be optional.

I'm sorry, you're a smart ass crack, and what was the other part?

Huh? What the? Obama wants to do a colonoscopy? On the taxpayers? Wouldn't that be a good thing, maybe catch a serious health problem in its early stages?
Apparently, in the parallel universe, proctology and anal rape are pretty much the same thing?
I guess?

My brain is senile? And then I took some drugs that cured my senility? That seems pretty good.

And by "robbing my piggy bank" I of course mean lowering my stupid, inbred pig-woman of a mother's taxes!

Yeah, Fuck you for canceling Brooklyn South!

Yes. Yes, this is astroturf. Any other questions?

Okay, I will. I will research "quiet Jihad."

Ooooh, it's the idiot Pam Geller. At least, when I typed quiet Jihad into Google, everything that came up was Pam Geller-related. But I said I would research it and I will. I'll let you know what I find out about this silliness.

So the Universe Does Revolve Around Me? Ha! You Were Wrong, Mom!

Apparently, there is a group who believes that Galileo Was Wrong!

http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/513jAYl-aHL._SL500_AA300_.jpg

This is a real book, by the way. You can find it at Amazon.com.

Anyway, the people behind the Geo-Centrism revival are having a conference.

When I tried to take a look at their website to find out about this conference, I got this:

Bandwidth Limit Exceeded

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to the site owner reaching his/her bandwidth limit. Please try again later.

Because, I guess in order to expand your bandwidth capacity, you need someone with a working knowledge of science.

But a website called Technabob had this screenshot:

galileo was wrong not really

And here's a summary from Techeye.net

The big idea is that the truth of Geocentrism is known by the powers that be but they are hiding it. We guess it is because it proves everything that the Bible and the Church has said before Vatican II was completely right.

Dr. Robert Bennett is going to show scientific experiments indicating that the earth is motionless in space.

Others will show "proof" that the earth is the centre of the universe, outer space is not empty and how carbon 14 & radiometric dating show that the earth is jolly young.

Also to be discussed at the forum:

The Common Cold: Caused by evil fairies or witchery?

Crop Failure: Can aught but witchery be to blame?

Schizophrenia: Demon-possession or mere witchery?

Attractive Women: Are any of them Non-witches?

See you There!

Newt Gingrich Continues to Say Things

http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_AiXjZwvSgbI/TFJYcFFKbdI/AAAAAAAAEi8/UsGPLCfwglk/s1600/NewtGingrich.jpg

Citing a recent Forbes article by Dinesh D’Souza, former House speaker Newt Gingrich tells National Review Online that President Obama may follow a “Kenyan, anti-colonial” worldview.

Gingrich says that D’Souza has made a “stunning insight” into Obama’s behavior — the “most profound insight I have read in the last six years about Barack Obama.”

“What if [Obama] is so outside our comprehension, that only if you understand Kenyan, anti-colonial behavior, can you begin to piece together [his actions]?” Gingrich asks. “That is the most accurate, predictive model for his behavior.”

Okay, first of all, why do you say anti-colonial like it's a bad thing? Didn't our Founding Fathers (pause for genuflection) launch the American Revolution in a fit of anti-colonialism? Are you saying that you're Pro-Colonialism? Being anti-colonial is like being anti-child-abuse. It's a no-brainer. Anyone with any shred of human decency is going to be anti-colonial. This is your trial balloon for 2012, vote for me, I'm not anti-colonial? Good luck with that.

Secondly, no one has ever, not ever, said that Dinesh D'souza has had a "stunning insight" into anything. Ever. That's just one of those sentences that has never been spoken, like "Gee, I just can't get enough of that Katy Perry!" or "I think Dane Cook is funny." Never been said. By anyone. Ever.
See, this is the kind of "insight" you get from D'Souza:

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/P/0385510128.01._SS500_SCLZZZZZZZ_V64440442_.jpg

9/11 was bad, I hate the left, therefore the left is responsible for 9/11!

Or check out this brilliant "insight" into the Abu Ghraib scandal:

Abu Ghraib did not reflect the shared values of America, it reflected the sexual immodesty of liberal America. Lynndie England and Charles Graner were two wretched individuals from Red America who were trying to act out the fantasies of Blue America. Casting aside all traditional notions of decency, propriety and morality, they simply lived by the code of self-fulfillment. If it feels good, it must be right. This was bohemianism, West Virginia-style.

I can't wait for his next book "The Left Is Responsible for my Being Picked on in Junior High" or maybe "Why the Liberals are to Blame for my Poor Eyesight."

Seriously, Dinesh D'Souza? You really want to hitch your wagon to that star? Be my guest.

If you want my advice, though, if you're serious about running in 2012 (and please, God let him be serious!) you might want to think about this for a second. We haven't elected a fat president since Taft.

Just sayin'!

More Evidence That Vaccines Don't Cause Autism

"Prenatal and early life exposure to ethylmercury from thimerosal in vaccines or immunoglobulin products does not increase a child's risk of developing autism," concluded senior study author Dr. Frank DeStefano, director of the immunization safety office at the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Yeah, I don't know. . . I still think Jenny McCarthy might know a little more about this than the CDC.
