A Couple of TV Questions

1. How can these guys

be making a fortune selling duck calls? How much can a duck call possibly sell for? According to Google, not all that much, judging by the first few results that come up:

Search Results

  1. Duck Commander Classic Commander All-Purpose Duck Call 13541917
    from 16 stores
    8 nearby stores

  2. Buck Gardner Calls DNP-CG Double Nasty II Duck Call
    from 42 stores
    25+ nearby stores

  3. Primos 882 Classic Wood Duck Call
    from 37 stores
    1 nearby store

So, if duck calls are readily available from many different companies for 15 or 20 bucks, how many can these guys be selling? Or if they make some super-fancy high-end luxury duck call, how much of a market is there for super-fancy high-end luxury duck calls?

It's the most luxurious, classy bird-killing accessory in the world!

So, I'm obviously not saying that the duck dynasty is a front for organized crime, but you can draw your own conclusions.

2. Revolution

I get that the grid is down. I get that there is no electricity, but why would guns not work? The electricity goes out and suddenly everyone's fighting with swords and crossbows?
Even if in the years following the blackout they used up all the bullets, people were manufacturing guns and ammunition before there was electricity.

Someone still knows how to make bullets. There's no reason for this:

Or maybe there is. Probably there is, but I sure as hell am not going to sit through a show produced by JJ Abrams and Jon Favreau to find out!

There are guns in the show "Revolution." Most are used by the militia; it is a 'hanging offense' for non-militia to have guns.

I hate all these kinds of movies. And I've got enough problems that I refuse to pay good money and use up good time to watch other peoples' stupid fantasies. Hell, I can just watch the Republican Party if I want to get really depressed!

You're just too logical for your own good, Professor.
