Posting has been a bit spotty lately because SOMEONE has been hogging the computer. Apparently SOMEONE thinks her job search is more important than my blog hobby! Whatever!
So now's my chance to catch up with some recent events.
1. Right-Wing justices explain their Voting Rights Act decision:
I believe in original intent, and clearly the founding fathers never intended
to allow minorities to vote!
Hey, the US Chamber of Commerce says "overturn," I overturn! It's not up to me!
Hey, I get to vote, so I don't really see what the problem is.
Oh, and SCOTUS also ruled that the government can't tell you who you can or can't marry, much to the delight of Libertarians everywhere.
Haha, just kidding, Libertarians are complete hypocrites:

Yes, Rand, things do get difficult if we don't have laws about things. That applies to non-marriage things too, you know.
And in Non-SCOTUS news:
. . . , health care activist AJ Marin was arrested for writing a message to Corbett in chalk on the sidewalk: “Governor Corbett has health insurance, we should too.” According to the citation, Marin was charged with disorderly conduct for writing a “derogatory remark about the governor on the sidewalk.”
Yes, it is now apparently illegal in the state of Pennsylvania to write derogatory remarks about the governor. Things you can still legally write include:
Governor Corbett: What a swell guy!
Governor Corbett: If I was a girl, I'd totally do it with him!
and
Blocking Medicaid? It's a real good thing ya done that, Governor. Yep, a real good thing!
And speaking of horrible governors:
Rick Perry has already called for a second special session of the Texas Legislature to ram through the ban on abortions after 20 weeks and add all sorts of restrictions on what sort of clinics can provide abortion services, because you know how he loves for government to regulate private businesses!
"Texans value life" he said, as Texas conducted its
500th execution in the background.
And other horrible politicians:
Rick Santorum has a new wingnut-welfare "job" running a movie studio!

So what sort of business experience does Santorum have that he is capable of stepping in to the CEO's office of a sure-to-be-bankrupt-soon movie studio?
Santorum volunteered for Senator John Heinz's campaign while still in college and then worked as an administrative assistant to Republican State Senator Doyle Corman while putting himself through law school at Dickinson School of Law. Santorum earned his law degree in 1986 and started practicing law at Kirkpatrick & Lockhart. . .
In 1990, a 32-year-old Rick Santorum ran for political office for the first time as a long-shot candidate for the United States House of Representatives from Pennsylvania's 18th congressional district, representing the Pittsburgh suburbs where he had been raised. To the surprise of political experts, Santorum won the election.
So, practiced law for 4 years, then off to Congress. Sure, sounds exactly like the guy you want running your business!
I'm sure there's lots of other stuff I missed, but SOMEONE needs the computer again, so I will sign off for now!

I feel your pain. My cat hogs the computer all the time and she doesn't even have the excuse of job hunting.
