Flashback Friday -- The Fall

A couple days ago Debra posted about Victoria Day, which is a holiday in Canada and probably England I think? Maybe Australia? Anyway, that made me think of The Fall's version of the cong "Victoria" which made me think about how long it had been since I'd listened to The Fall which sent me to the YouTube. Enjoy! Or don't. Some people hate them.

Yes, I really enjoyed listening to "Victoria" -- it is all new to me! And only Canada celebrates Victoria Day -- not Australia, not anywhere else in the Commonwealth, not even Britain celebrates the birth of Queen Victoria. We colonials celebrate it because Victoria was queen when Canada became a country in 1867 and so she is considered to be the "Mother of the Country.".

Didn't mind the band, but I had never heard them. I can't say I will be writing home about them, however.

I was immediately drawn to "...Elastic Man", which should have been Plastic Man. I was surprised that they even knew about Plastic Man, as I thought it was pretty obscure. It was my favorite comic book of all time.

I only know The Kinks' version of Victoria, but the sound of The Fall takes me right back to a lot of the stuff I listened to in college.
