(via MPS) From Lunatic hate-monger Tony Perkins of Family Research Council comes this quote:

Okay, so you think you've seen this movie before. Contraception is widely available and it's turning our innocent young ladies into giant slut-bags, etc. . .

 

 well it’s there, it must be there for a reason. . .

 Or maybe it's the one about how no young person would ever get it into his head to go out and do sex to a lady if it were not for society's evil influence, placing contraception within his grasp and what-not?

 and then we’re surprised when — this is not justification, it’s wrong, we are all responsible for our actions — but we’re surprised when people act on these outside factors that they are surrounded by.



 Oh, no wait. Maybe it's the even worse movie where a right-wing moralizer makes excuses for rapists? It's not the boys' fault that they get so tempted by the slutty temptresses, what with evil secularist society making contraceptives so readily available, how can they control themselves? One of those quotes?

 Here's the actual ending of this Tony Perkins quote:

How the what? Leads to tyranny? I would've bet money he was gonna say "leads to whoredom" or "leads to fornicationville" or something that at least has some relation to the availability of sex stuff, but tyranny? Just to be sure, here's the quote in its entirety:

 I've searched the intertubes for some context, and this is all I can find:

“It leads to tyranny,” added Perkins."This is the challenge we have when we abandon objective truth and jettison the moral law and live by an arbitrary standard that is put in place by government.”

 How exactly making birth control available has anything to do with objective truth, or what "objective truth" has to do with abandoning moral law or what any of that has to do with tyranny is anyone's guess.

Washington Update 

The Star-Strangled Banner

Ooh, good one! I see what you did there! Star Strangled? Zing! someone's wearing the clever-boy pants today! I mean, it doesn't make any sense, because who's the star, and what banner is he strangling? But still. . .

The Obama administration doesn't typically run its agenda up the flagpole, but at a military base in Afghanistan, the soldiers did it for them. There, in the dusty desert of war, an Army outpost saluted the colors of the homosexual lobby by flying a rainbow flag in place of Old Glory. Back home in America, a woman named Nicole Jodice posted the picture on Facebook, praising her husband for promoting, not the stars, but these stripes.

Okay, see, if anything, it seems like maybe you meant to say the stripes are maybe strangling the stars? Or something? Forget it. Anyway, it's not like the Obama administration has exactly been all that secretive about their agenda. You folks have spent the last 3+ years complaining about Obama "shoving" his agenda "down your throats."

Sound Familiar?

To some, like Mstr. Sgt. Corey Wade, these displays are an uncomfortable reminder of the open policy that few of the troops support.

Okay, now that's just a lie. In the run-up to the repeal of DADT, surveys consistently showed a majority of active-duty military personnel in favor of repeal. Most soldiers have served alongside gay brothers in arms and have found them to be every bit as brave and heroic as straight GI's. (and maybe even a bit more fierce!)

In response to the picture of a Marine with his legs wrapped around his boyfriend in Stars and Stripes magazine, Wade wrote a stinging letter to the editors, explaining that the military's rules on homosexuality may have changed, but the troops' reservations about it had not. 

And of course, Mstr. Sgt. Corey Wade is representative of all soldiers. That's what's called a scientific sample.

 And the troops aren't the only ones feeling the whiplash of the military's new policy. Just three weeks after President Obama publicly apologized for offending the Islamic community with the accidental Koran burning, this base is pledging its allegiance to an act that is nearly as incendiary. Where is the concern now for angering Afghan Muslims, who vehemently oppose homosexuality?

Seriously? You're suddenly worried about offending Muslims? Okay, let's pretend for a second that you actually give a shit about Afghan Muslims. Are you really equating the raising of a rainbow flag with the burning of their holy book?  Do you think that someone burning a Bible would be equivalent to someone saying "here's an area in which we believe differently"?

The decision to fly the flag is even more of a head-scratcher when you consider the Defense Department's obvious scorn for the Christian cross.

Um, only if you think that Gay is a religion or Christianity is a sexual orientation.

  

Or some combination thereof.

Last November, in Afghanistan's Camp Marmal, soldiers were ordered to tear down a cross that marked the chapel's entrance because it was, in Commander William Speaks's words, "a distinctly religious symbol." The camp's occupants were stunned. . . "I really don't understand why Christians are always attacked," said a service member. "It if was a crescent moon on top of a mosque, it would never be taken down."

Yeeeeeahhhh. . .  um. if it were a crescent moon on top of a mosque, it wouldn't have been on a US military base, genius.

Unfortunately, it appears this flag is just one way the President is taking his hostility toward religious freedom to new heights. 

Jeezus Christ, you people really don't understand the word "freedom" do you? I mean, you really seem to think that freedom means the exact opposite of what it means. Which wouldn't be so bad if you weren't constantly going on about it.
