But setting that aside for the moment, do you actually hear the words that are coming out of your horrible bile-coated hate-hole? Because you're not really making much sense. Let's look at what you've said here.

You know what, I got through college without borrowing any money either. Mainly because college was a lot cheaper back when I went. I'm guessing that in the late mesozoic era when you were attending classes, it was even cheaper. College is way more expensive now.

And it seems like you should realize this, seeing as how you refer to young people who "graduate with $200,000 of debt or even $80,000 of debt."   Do you think that a student, following your example, could earn $200,000 in 7 years while attending college classes? Does that really seem feasible? Especially if the student, following your example, is "totally on [her] own when [she] went to college, totally" Does it seem reasonable to think that a student is going to be able to earn that kind of money working the kind of job that a student without a degree is going to be able to get?

I don't think anyone is forgetting that.  I think the reason that people are paying so much to go to college is so that they can take advantage of the opportunities afforded to us as Americans. But that costs money. Lots and lots of money.

Yeah, see, I don't think that spending every cent you have and going tens of thousands of dollars into debt in order to grind through 4 years of higher education so that you can make yourself attractive to potential employers is exactly "having it dumped in your lap."

I have to contradict you. There is absolutely a reason for that. And the reason is simply this: BECAUSE THAT'S HOW MUCH COLLEGE COSTS!!! Do you think that college students are borrowing a hundred grand to go to a school that costs a couple hundred bucks a semester?
