Quiet Jihad

Okay, Mr. Sign Man from yesterday, I promised I would research "Quiet Jihad" and I am true to my word.

And by "research" I mean "type the phrase into Google and see what comes up."

So I did, and what comes up is Pam Geller.

Pam Geller is the nut behind the blog "Atlas Shrugs," which tells you a little something about how Pammy sees herself. Um, Pammy, when Ayn Rand wrote Atlas Shrugged, the "Atlas" she was referring to were captains of industry, not sad little bloggers. Blogging is not really a good example of the kind of career in which the weight of the world rests upon your shoulders.

But anyway, if you're not familiar with Pam's particular brand of crackpottery, here are some examples of what you get when you type "Pam Geller" into the Google:

See, Pam's raison d'etre is her paranoid fear of Muslims. Not Muslim extremists, not Muslim terrorists, all Muslims. And like most paranoids, she's not just afraid that they might do something bad to her, she's sure that
they are already taking over! http://www.tradebit.com/usr/mp3-album/pub/9002/550/550605/55060573.jpg Dum Da Dummmmmm!!!!!!

So here's an example of what Pam calls "Quiet Jihad." If you are weak of heart, scroll down no further, for what you are about to read may be too terrifying, too frightening for you to handle!

Islamic Supremacist Alert: Muslims Sue Wal-Mart to Mosque the Workplace

In reading the NY Times propaganda piece, you have to go way deep into the article for the money line...... "All 10 complaints also stated that West African workers, who are Muslim, were refused short prayer breaks."

(note: I did not edit this. That is actually the first line of her article)
Mind you, it is not necessary for a Muslim to pray at a certain time.

Well, I don't know if that's true, and I'm guessing "Geller" isn't a Muslim name, so I checked it out. From what I understand, some Muslims believe that they must pray 5 times a day at specific times. Others are a bit more lax. Just like some Christians require confession and others don't, or some Jews keep all the strict kosher laws and others just avoid pork.

Can't Touch This!
Mind you, it is not necessary for a Muslim to pray at a certain time. These actions are merely devices in which to impose Islam on non-believers.

Oh. I see. Just like when I asked my boss for Superbowl Sunday off, I was forcing all my co-workers to be football fans. Sure, that makes sense. So, Muslims aren't really sincere about their religious beliefs, but they do want to force those beliefs on the rest of us? Is that it?

Muslims have pulled this act of war and the imposition of Islamic supremacism and sharia against Wal-mart before, and have won.

Really? Act of war? Filing a lawsuit to allow for prayer time is an act of war?
I'm not saying that what they're asking for is reasonable. Maybe it is, maybe not, I don't run a Wal-Mart, so I don't know. I would think having a bunch of employees leaving the sales floor at the same time would be pretty disruptive. I think people should pray to whomever they believe in on their own time, but that's just me. At any rate, I fail to see how this constitutes an act of war.

Hold on, now because this article is about to get a little incoherent.

Muslims have pulled this act of war and the imposition of Islamic supremacism and sharia against Wal-mart before, and have won.

The pathologically ill NY Times spin is pro-illegal, anti American, anti-business, blah blah blah. But the real story is hidden.

Immigrants Claim Wal-Mart Fired Them to Provide Jobs for Local Residents NY Times hat tip Kenny S

(again, I did not edit this.)

SILVERTHORNE, Colo. — A small group of West African [Muslim] men who came to the Rockies in search of economic opportunity are embroiled in a dispute with Wal-Mart, accusing it of a raft of discriminatory actions. Most say they were dismissed because supervisors wanted to give their jobs to local people in need of work. Skip to next paragraph Enlarge This Image Dana Romanoff for The New York Times

Wal-Mart, which has a history of discrimination and labor complaints but has increased efforts to promote diversity at its stores, denies the accusations.

Right there, anti-Walmart second paragraph.

Yes. Stating something about Wal-Mart which is true and then putting a positive pro-Wal-Mart spin on it is definitely anti-WalMart. Like saying that several Duke LaCrosse players were accused of rape, but later they were exonerated is rabidly anti-Duke-Lacrosse-Player.

The Times article states that Wal-Mart has had a history of complaints. Are you saying that's not true, or just that the reporter should have left out that fact? When covering a story that involves Wal-Mart and a claim of discrimination, one should never mention Wal-Mart and discrimination. Although I guess it's OK to mention that they have increased efforts to promote diversity, and that they deny the charges?

Well, I'm scared. It's possible, that if these men succeed, it may be really hard to get service at certain Wal-Marts in say, Dearborn, MI, at certain times of day. Brrrrrr!!!!!

Here's another scaaaaary story of Quiet Jihad.

Two versions of the same story with quite different details and manner of reporting. Either way, it’s just more of the same. Somali Muslims trying to enforce sharia law on non-Muslim students, and administrators kowtowing as usual, as are some media.

Oh, Shari law? No, definitely don't want that! Let's see how these nefarious Muslims are imposing their laws on non-Muslim students:

Principal Don Johnson said the problems began when two white students wrote papers in recent weeks that were “inflammatory and very disrespectful.” One student handed out copies of his paper to friends, while the other posted his on a class blog. Both were suspended from the school of 1,600 students — about 100 of whom are Somali.

Johnson said that before the second student returned to school Monday, the student sent text messages over the weekend to white and Somali students that were “unapologetic and in your face.” He then walked into a common area Monday where more than 20 Somali students were gathered and sat down. An altercation erupted that sent one of the white students to the hospital for observation.

So, some Somali students were insulted, then got into a fight with the students who insulted them? That's it? because, I think that's how most students would react to being insulted and taunted. Doesn't make it right, but it hardly seems like a big deal.

This is how it creeps folks. In big cities and small towns. You cannot say anything about Muslims – they are indeed privileged. If you do say something, be prepared to fight for your life and livelihood, possibly die, certainly have your life disrupted, end up in court, and be labeled things you likely are not.

So, if you take offense at something someone writes, and it escalates into a brawl amongst different groups of teenage boys, that makes you a "privileged" group. Because, sure, no other group will be likely to throw punches if they fell like you've insulted or disrespected them. Except Raider fans, of course. And Bikers. And people from Boston. And British soccer fans. And South Korean legislators. But that's it. Oh, and also, half the teenage boys on the planet. And some of the girls. So I guess those are all privileged groups.
