What the hell is it with these people?

Why is it that certain, shall we say conservative-leaning, white people spend so much time trying to find some loophole, some scenario in which it's okay for them to say the N-word?

Tea Party Hero Joe Walsh Kicked Off The Air For Using The N-Word

By Scarce June 20, 2014 4:23 am

At least this idiot comes up with a new fake pathetic rationale. I just assumed he'd go with the Dr. Laura "hey, if the black people can say that word why can't I?' logic. No, America's most famous deadbeat dad has a whole new line of reasoning which is equally stupid. Well, let's just let him explain it in this series of tweets.

Yeah, ya do.  You know exactly why.

Hmm, I wonder what those "other words" might be?
You know, every radio and tv outlet has their own standards for which words they consider too offensive. Like you can say "fuck" on HBO, but not on Comedy Central. You can say "shit" on Comedy central, but not on the Hallmark Channel.
In fact, not to digress, but I remember seeing Patton Oswalt on tv talking about his Comedians of Comedy show, and he said that the network would allow hin to say the word "dick" if it referred to a person who is a jerk, but he could not use the same word if it referred to a man's organ. His conundrum was this: what if some guy's penis is a racist? What if his "dick" is a real "dick?" Then what? Well, it was funny the way he said it.

Anyway, my point is that there's really no mystery here. There's nothing strange about a radio station deciding that this particular racial slur is okay to say on the air, but another one isn't. No matter how much you pretend to be just completely flummoxed by this inconsistency.

You know, a decent person would ask "if 'Redskins' is just like the n-word, then why the hell are we allowed to say 'Redskins?'" But you, being more of a shitweasel than a decent human being, of course want to know why can't you say the N-word.

Well, hallelujah!

Oh, yes. Of course. That's what you were trying to do. Trying to have an honest discussion about racist language. Yes, obviously. What could be a more honest discussion of such a controvbersial topic than "hey, how come I can't say n***er?"

Yeah, there's really not much to explain. You used offensive language on the air, so the radio station fired you or suspended you or whatever, as is their right. And, under FCC regulations, may actually be their obligation, I'm not sure. But anyway,no explanation is required. It's like saying "well, I robbed a liquor store, so I'm being arrested. . . you know what, it's a long story, I'll explain it to you later."

And there it is.
You just couldn't resist, could you. You just had to find a way to say the N-word.

What the hell is it with you people? Of all the things you could be doing with your time, of all the "rights" you could be standing up for, you have to dedicate your efforts to somehow coming up with some way that it's okay for you to say the N-word. Why would you even want to say that word? It's a horrible word. And if you honestly think that "Cracker" or "Redneck Bible Thumper" are in any way its equivalent, then you are are even stupider than I thought.

I've been very busy lately

Between this weekend's scooter rally

And watching the Giants kick a bunch of red tail-feathers all over the bay,

I've been neglecting my blogging duties.

But no more.

I have one day before the World Series begins, so time to get caught up.

Let's see, what have I missed?

Tagg Romney would like to take a swing at President Obama? Seriously?

I double-dog dare you, Tagg. Seriously, you don't have to worry about the Secret Service. the only thing that might keep the Prez from dropping you like a sack of wet laundry is if the First Lady got to you first.

You prissy little yuppie, you want to go around taking swings at people who call your father a liar? It's gonna be a long fuckin night, 'cuz everyone calls your father a liar. Is your indignation tempered at all by the fact that your father is actually a huuuuuuge liar? That he lies as easily and glibly as any sociopath?

Mitt Romney is a liar! Come at me, bro!

Let's see, what else has been going on?

Oh, I see deadbeat dad Joe Walsh has graduated from the Todd Akin school of lady-parts-ology.

Asked by reporters after the debate if he was saying that it’s never medically necessary to conduct an abortion to save the life of a mother, Walsh responded, “Absolutely.”

“With modern technology and science, you can't find one instance,” he said. “... There is no such exception as life of the mother, and as far as health of the mother, same thing.

You know, I'm no doctor or scientist or anything, heck I don't even have a uterus, but even I know someone who very nearly died from a tubal pregnancy. So, that's one instance right there. What makes these right-wing fellas think they know so much about the female reproductive system?

Oh, and some creepy white-supremacist guy was caught throwing away voter registration forms in Virgina, which is obviously a federal crime, but don't worry, he was working for the Republican party, so that pretty much means it was all on the up-and-up, not like ACORN!

Scary monsters
This guy couldn't possibly have any nefarious objectives!

State Board of Elections won’t ask attorney general to investigate worker arrested for dumping voter registrations

Sure, no investigation needed here, because, um. . . . wait, why?

RICHMOND, Va. (WTVR) – The State Board Of Elections says it will not ask Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli to investigate the case of a Republican Party contract worker, accused of throwing voter registration forms in the trash. . . .

“There’s no way to tell by party when people fill out these forms, what party they’re affiliated with, so I don’t think there’s any political motivation,”  Virginia Registrar Brandi Lilly said Friday.

There's just no way of knowing whether that voter lives in a heavily Democratic precinct, or is, say, oh, I don't know, black, or female.
And even if there really actually somehow was no partisan political motivation for this creep to throw out voter registrations, the fact remains that he was throwing out voter registrations, denying citizens their right to vote while employed by the Republican party.

Oh, and also this:

So, the guy throwing away voter registrations not only was a contract worker for the GOP, his profession is "Grassroots Field Director" for the RNC. But, surely there is no partisan agenda at work here!

I keep hearing people talking about how confident they are that Barack Obama is going to be re-elected because Mitt Romney is such a dismal, unlikable piece of work, and I wince every time I hear it. Because they don't seem to be taking in to account the amount of chicanery the GOP is going to throw at the election. They are already doing everything in their power to suppress the vote via voter ID laws, and restricting early voting. They've been caught changing addresses on Democratic voter registrations in Florida, "True the Vote" is training assholes to challenge voters at the polls in swing states, and oh, by the way TAGG ROMNEY BOUGHT THE COMPANY THAT SUPPLIES THE VOTING MACHINES IN OHIO, which pretty much makes us an official banana republic now.

Hart Intercivic supplies voting machines that will be used in Hamilton County, Ohio, one of the state’s most populous counties. In 2008, Barack Obama won the county with 209,000 votes—his third highest vote total among all Ohio’s 88 counties.
H.I.G. Capital, a large investment fund, is a “significant investor” in Hart Intercivic, according to an announcement put out last year by Hart. And H.I.G., in turn, is one of the largest partners, with nearly $10 billion of equity capital, of  Solamere Capital, the investment fund founded and run by Tagg Romney, Mitt’s eldest son, The Nation recently reported*.
Mitt Romney seeded the firm with a $10 million investment, offered strategic advice, and was the featured speaker at its first investor conference in 2010, The Nation reported.
Wow. I think I was alot happier not paying attention to all this shit.

Can we just go ahead and start the World Series now?

Joe Walsh can't possibly sink any lower. . .Oh, wait. there he goes!

(From Think Progress)
Rep. Joe Walsh Blasts Double Amputee’s Military Service, Says She’s Not A ‘True Hero’
By Scott Keyes on Jul 3, 2012 at 11:06 am

The Tea Party freshman opened the Elk Grove town hall by arguing that Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) was reluctant to discuss his own military service in 2008, which made him a “noble hero.” By contrast, “Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about,” Walsh said.

This is her, by the way:

So, yeah, I guess she probably would have a lot to talk about re: her military service.

WALSH: Understand something about John McCain. His political advisers, day after day, had to take him and almost throw him against a wall and hit him against the head and say, “Senator, you have to let people know you served! You have to talk about what you did!” He didn’t want to do it, wouldn’t do it. Day after day they had to convince him. Finally, he talked a little bit about it, but it was very uncomfortable for him. That’s what’s so noble about our heroes. Now I’m running against a woman who, my God, that’s all she talks about. Our true heroes, it’s the last thing in the world they talk about. That’s why we’re so indebted and in awe of what they’ve done.

Oh, is that why? That's why we're so indebted (to) and in awe of them? See, here I thought we were so indebted (to) and in awe of our military heroes because they risked life and limb in service to their country. But, sure, I guess their reluctance to talk about it is what's really so impressive. Jackass.

He also had this to say about a woman who gave both of her legs in service to her nation:
“She’s been the one working in Washington. She’s a bureaucrat. I’m a fighter."

Oh, you're the fighter? Oh, of course. Fighting your ex-wife in court over your unwillingness to support your children, that's the real fight! Obviously, you're the real hero in this story. Asshole.

I have so much respect for what she did in the fact that she sacrificed her body for this country,” said Walsh, simultaneously lowering his voice as he leaned forward before pausing for dramatic effect. “Ehhh. Now let’s move on.”

Holy fuck! Why are these asshole right-wingers, who genuflect every time they mention "the troops" always so eager to slander actual living, breathing war heroes?

For the record, let's look at an exhaustive list of all the heroic things that Joe Walsh has done in his lifetime:

Joe the Deadbeat issued an additional statement defending his dick behavior which included this:

We are about four months from Election Day and the people of Illinois have no idea where Tammy Duckworth stands on these issues because she dodges debate requests, ignores our invitations to speak at town halls, refuses to talk about solutions and constantly reminds voters of her war service.

Oh, ducking debates and ignores invitations to town halls, eh? Sounds pretty damning. Except for this one  little  thing:

Joe Walsh Challenged Duckworth To A Debate At The Same Time That She Was Serving Army Duty

By Faiz Shakir on Apr 16, 2012 at 1:34 pm

Last Friday, Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) challenged his Democratic opponent — Iraq war veteran Tammy Duckworth — to a debate. . . Unfortunately, she was unable to attend. Why? Because Duckworth, who serves in the Army National Guard, was on duty this past weekend. As VoteVets told ThinkProgress, under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, Duckworth was legally prohibited from appearing at any campaign events while on duty.

Family Research Council has No Sense if Irony

(via)
Republican Rep. Joe Walsh was the only Illinois congressman to be named a “True Blue” member of Congress for “unwavering support of the family” by the Family Research Council Action committee Thursday.

Which sounds reasonable unless you're one of those people who have ever heard of Joe walsh of know anything about him.

Walsh’s ex-wife says Walsh owes more than $100,000 in back child support for their three children. Walsh counters that he and his wife had a “verbal agreement” that he didn’t have to pay child support during years when he wasn’t earning as much.

"Hey, we said support of THE family, not support of HIS family," a Family Research Council spokesperson might have added.

“We thank Cong. Walsh who has voted consistently to defend faith, family and freedom,” said FRCA President Tony Perkins. “Cong. Walsh and other ‘True Blue Members’ have voted to repeal Obamacare, de-fund Planned Parenthood, end government funding for abortion within the health care law, uphold the Defense of Marriage Act, and continue support for school choice.

What better way to support the family than making it harder for families to get medical care? Or how better to promote freedom by making sure that only some people are free to marry the person of their choosing? And what better example of faith than voting to end government funding for abortion within a bill which contains no government funding for abortion?  Imaginary crisis averted!
And de-funding Planned Parenthood? Considering that they are already forbidden to use any government funds for abortions, that's basically just making it harder for women to get lady-health exams, so yeah, you're kinda promoting the orphaning of low-income children. And THAT is how you support families. And faith, too, because I'm pretty sure it says in the Bible somewhere that "if a lady doth become sick, then she shall surely be left to die unless she shall have health insurance which verily shall be repealed by God-fearing congressmen. For verily I say unto thee, the unborn babies must be protected. Once they shall be born, they shall be on their own, and it shall be their own fault for not being born to more affluent parents, saith the Lord."

So, sure let's give an award to Joe Walsh for all the wonderful things he's doing for families. Yes, a few mothers may die young, and some children may die because their parents can't get insurance, but the important thing is that the gays won't be gettin' married on Joe Walsh's watch!
